What is this tool doing?

With DataVaccinator LIVE, you can pseudonymise and de-pseudonymise data in an Excel file (.xlsx).

What are the limits of free DataVaccinator LIVE?

• Works on one worksheet per document.
• Data layout must be datasets in rows (top to bottom).
• Maximum 500 lines per spreadsheet.
• Maximum 256 KB of PID/PII data per spreadsheet.
• The data is kept for up to 30 days.
• No support for encrypted Excel spreadsheets.
• The preview is showing dates as numeric values (timestamps, non destructive).

Do you see my Excel data?

No, because your Excel spreadsheet does not leave your computer. It is not uploaded and therefore we have no access to your data. The pseudonymisation is done completely inside of your web-browser.

Before the pseudonymisation data (PID/PII) is uploaded and stored on our systems, it is locally encrypted with the password you enter. This password is not transferred to us and we don't know it. Therefore, we can not decrypt and read your data.

Where is the pseudonymised data stored?

The pseudonymised data is stored encrypted inside our DataVaccinator infrastructure.

We host this application in three data centers in Nuremburg (Germany), Falkenstein (Germany) and Helsinki (Finland). The data is redundant between these three hosts and only accessible by this service.

What happens if the retention period is over?

At the end of the retention period, we delete any data that was stored in DataVaccinator. Please note that there is no way to restore that data!

What encryption is used for my data?

We encrypt using AES256 and hash the data using SHA256. The communication is additionally encrypted using standard SSL transport encyption (https).
